Abby：Should we shut down our website？ We don’t really need it anymore, and it takes so much time to update, right Chiharu？
Chiharu：We are pretty busy. What do you think, Eric？
Eric：Even if we stop updating it, we shouldn’t shut it down. That may contribute to broken internet syndrome.
Abby：What’s that？
Eric：Even when a website closes, other sites and apps still link to it, so they become full of inactive links. Didn’t you have a problem with that recently, Chiharu？
Chiharu：Yeah, I did. I couldn’t get the data I needed for an assignment. A website that my teacher suggested had too many broken links. We shouldn’t cause trouble for others.
Abby：I don’t want to add to the problem, either. Does that really happen often, Eric？
Eric：From what I’ve read, over half of all links on the internet don’t work.
Abby：That’s a lot. But we’ll have to pay to keep our website active.
Eric：How much do we pay per month, Chiharu？
Chiharu：6,000 yen.
Abby：It seems like a waste. I don’t think it’s worth the cost.
Chiharu：Abby has a point. These monthly bills are adding up, and I can’t afford it anymore.
Eric：Come on, now. If everyone thinks like that, the problem will get much worse. I think we have a responsibility to others.
